Title: Turn Them to the Wall
Warnings: None
Word Count: 86
Characters: Nigel and Alan
Notes: A drabble on a particular theme, the former being a request and the latter being mine.
Summary: Seeing double.
There is a strange little pattern, a habit unbroken, and it puzzles Alan every time. For each mirror they pass, Nigel presses a palm to the surface. For each mirror he cannot touch, he closes his eyes and hums a ditty, a makeshift prayer.
For each question Alan offers, Nigel tells him it is a farewell. For whom, he does not say.
Years later, Nigel stands at a poorly marked grave, a hand against the dirt and a hum on his lips. Alan thinks he understands.
